Blogger Carnival: Can’t Live Without Results!

ALICE_LOGOWe have our winners!

First of all, thank you so much to everyone who participated in this month’s Blogger Carnival: Can’t Live Without, in which Alice.com was nice enough to provide us with a bunch of prizes for great entries.

As always, the Carnival Team, Curly Su and Fantabulously Frugal, helped to put together a great list of wonderful posts about the kinds of things that some of our member’s consider essential to their daily lives.

Everyone who participated: You can receive $10 off of any $50 that you or your readers spend on Alice.com. If you have an Alice.com account, we will forward it to Alice.  If you don’t, you can use the 20SB referral link* or head to Alice.com directly for an account, and we’ll coordinate with Alice so you’ll get the discount offer.

All the participant posts can be found on the Blogger Carnival page here.

Alice Selections: In addition to the winners below, these posts were selected by the team over at Alice for potential republishing on their Community Blog*.

Caffeinate Me, Yours Truly Dear, The Rest Is Still Unwritten, Bridge & Tunnel, The PQ Nation, Kapachino, Sans Limites, Doniree, Stephanie Writes, Red Letter Haze

The Runner Ups: These posts were the ones that everyone thought really stood out.  The following bloggers will receive a $25 credit to their Alice account!  Congratulations!

Just A Titch

Sure, I make enough to live on, to pay rent with, and to eat with; however, I do NOT make enough to go on extravagant shopping sprees or have a fancy new car or anything like that.  Does it bother me?  Sometimes, yes.  Because, like most of us, there are things I want, things I need, and things I absolutely, positively, cannot live without.

Headed In The Right Direction

There are still a million different directions I could go with this, but I thought about it a lot yesterday, and I came to the conclusion that the one tangible thing I can’t live without is just that: the tangible.

Life In The Left Lane

As I was trying to decide what I “can’t live without,” I realized that I have categories of items I couldn’t image being on this earth without.  So instead of just one important item, I will share with you a series of things that are pretty damn important to me.

Habbala

I could not, would not ever want to live without words. Ever. Me and words? We go way back. My need for words is two-fold, the first is the need for words to have books.

Kramey Martin

So, the topic is “what I can’t live without.” Well, some days it seems like I can’t possibly live without a pair of J.Brand jeans, the latest dress from the Anthropologie catalog, or that beautiful white desk from Pottery Barn. And though these are things that I certainly enjoy having, they are SO completely unnecessary to survival, and even more unnecessary for my happiness.

On To The Grand Prize!

It wasn’t easy, as you can probably tell.  Those posts above are all really fun reads.  We had to pick a winner, though, and that winner will be the lucky recipient of $100 in their Alice account!

Give a big congratulations to Ashley, from Our Little Apartment!

I’ll Be The Bag Lady Sipping A LatteI never feel deprived, though, or all, “Woe is me, a poor peasant who shall never own a Coach bag.” Because: I allow myself to splurge on things that really make me happy. (Honestly, I couldn’t care less about Coach, anyway.) When thinking about what I couldn’t live without, no matter how poor we get, I realized it all comes down to one thing: Good Food.

Whether it’s a morning mocha, grocery shopping at Trader Joes and Whole Foods, Friday night take-out Thai, or brunch with Mike – I spend money on food.

Join Us Next Time

Congratulations to all Ashley and all the bloggers who were selected.  If you weren’t selected this time, or didn’t get a change to participate, stay tuned for our next Blogger Carnival!

Wow! I'm so honored to be a runner-up. Can't wait to read all of the submissions. On a logistical note, how do I go about redeeming my prize? I signed up for an Alice account right around the time that the carnival was announced, and the email I use for login is tabitha@alumni.apu.edu. Thanks!!
