2010 Bootlegger Finalists Announced

by lfar on December 28, 2009

We received a record number of nominations this year that brought an incredible group of blogs into the runnings for the 2010 Bootlegger Awards.  In each category, the top five bloggers who received the most nominations are now Finalists.

You are now invited to vote for one of these Finalists for each category, and the winners will be announced in January. The Finalist with the highest number of votes in each category will be declared the winner!

You’ll notice a few categories have four or six Finalists, which was due to ties or just a light category.

A quick note on some of the nominations, and also some ’splaining as to why it took so long to tally (other than that both your Chief Admins seemed to be very busy this time of year).  Some people didn’t enter the 20sb profile URL for the blogger they were nominating, but rather they entered the blogger’s URL, so we had to track them down on 20sb. Just another reason to add the 20sb badge on your blog, by the way! You can click here for our other badge option. Also, we had to confirm eligibility for some of the awards based on age and when a blog was started.

Also, I would just like to give a quick geography lesson.  “Across the pond” was defined as an award for non-North Americans.  Almost half of the people nominated were Canadians!  Canada is not non-North America.  Canada is very much North America.  Canada shares a very large border with the US. Canada is America’s Hat.

Now that we’ve covered that, let’s get down to voting!

Voting will be open until January 10th, so you’ve got two weeks to decide.

Happy Voting!

That's right. We have all the sassy teachers, gay PR executives, and Winnipeg residents with envy-inducing bangs. You know it's true.
