Guest Post For Us

TwentyTwenty is a blog devoted to personal blogging.

Have you got an idea for a post, tip, or tutorial that you’d like to share with the personal blogging community?

If so, TwentyTwenty is currently looking for guest authors whether they be one off or regular contributors.  Contact our editorial team via email for more details on how you can be a part of TwentyTwenty.

Born of the wonderful blogging community at 20 Something Bloggers, TwentyTwenty is a hybrid blog that matches interesting and useful content with community-focused announcements about blogger events and specific bloggers.  It’s the content we want your help with!

Please include in your email the title of the post you’d like to write and a brief (2-3 sentences) description of what it would be about.  We won’t hold you to the title but it will help us get an idea as to what direction you’ll take the post.

Please note: We can’t use everyone’s posts but the more specific your ‘pitch’ of the post you want to write is the more helpful it is to us to decide whether it will fit with our blog.  You can send in more than one post idea, but please do so in separate emails.

We’re particularly looking for content that is helpful to new bloggers, useful to the personal blogging community, ‘how to…’ type tutorials etc.  Oh, and we only publish original content that has not been posted elsewhere on the web.

Some ideas to get you started:

  • Setting up a new blog; the look and feel, the platform, the widgets.
  • Low-tech hacks that anyone can use to make their blog better.
  • Anonymity; levels, considerations, experiences.
  • Meetups; planning, attending, experiences.
  • Giveaways; organizing them, pros/cons, how to.
  • TrendSetters; twenty-somethings doing really cool stuff around the web!
  • Online Friendships; thoughts, experiences, maintaining them, etc.
  • Lessons; what you’ve learned as a personal blogger.
  • Success Stories; how your personal blog helped you succeed in something.
  • The Personal Blogosphere; got something to say about it?
  • Be creative!

If you’re interested, let us know right away!

I was thinking about something along the lines of “How much is TMI” if you aren’t anonymous, and can we have it both ways–e-fame and personal success, but safeguarding our need to tell the internet EVERYTHING against a future possible biting in the ass.

Also, my guest post wouldn’t be all one, long run-on sentence as delightfully written above.

I would LOVE a chance to guest post about the “positives” of sharing your stories. I’ve had some amazing connections made as a result of writing from the heart. My post could also address the line between truth and respect, as well as how to respectfully include others’ in your stories.

My email is titchblog@gmail.com if you’re interested—I’d LOVE a chance to write! Thanks!

Great idea! I too see the same questions being asked over and over again in the 20SB Forums. So this would be a good resource for new bloggers to turn to, like a Newbie Blogger FAQ. :)

I have a couple post topics in mind, but if you’re interested I could write something on “Blogging Etiquette” – the dos and don’ts, like keeping in mind that the people in your life that you blog about may not be too keen on the idea of you writing about them and how you should handle that dilemma.

Another topic, “How To Increase Your Readership Base” – I could give tips on how to go about that WITHOUT becoming a sellout, beggar or be seen as a fame whore.

Hey, this is a great idea and something I think that will end up helping bloggers of all experience levels.

I’d love to do a post that might be a little too area/field specific about anonymity and working in a field where it is important to do so (side note, I work in the political/DC world) and how to keep your voice alive without compromising your career- or identity- on a blog. I know a lot of the bloggers I know struggle with it here, and I have to imagine that it translates everywhere as more and more employers start looking at social media as a way to vet and monitor employees.

Hey guys,

I would love to guest post about forming friendships through blogging and how to maintain them. I’ve met some of my closest friends here in DC through blogging one way or another after moving here without knowing anyone. Blogging helped me find some people in my shoes and made the whole transition so much easier.

Hi all!

I’d like to chip in if possible; I would like to write a little something about making your presence felt in some part of the blogosphere via guest blogging – both hosting and participation.

Let me know if I can make the cut!

I have been blogging for quite a few years. Recently though I created a new blog. I am a recent grad from design school and my goal with my blog is to help out others who are in school, looking for resources, or just trying to get connected with other designers. I have been quite successful with it. I have had my blog used as a reference at my old school, and have had some great feedback on it. I would love to write a post about the success of it all.
